The Flagship / Issue No. 01
Design Intent
The MK-I is our flagship interview microphone, engineered for professionals who demand absolute vocal clarity. It is the central pillar of any Sound Architecture setup.
Capsule Tuning
A custom-tuned condenser capsule emphasizes the natural frequencies of speech. The 34mm gold-sputtered diaphragm captures a wide dynamic range with extremely low self-noise.
Build Quality
A heavy-duty zinc-alloy body and gold-plated XLR connector make the MK-I the most reliable and high-performing tool in your studio arsenal.
In Session
The MK-I sits at the center of the signal path — from capsule to interface, every component is chosen to preserve the natural character of the voice.

Transducer Excellence
A capsule that speaks only when it matters.
34mm Gold-Sputtered Diaphragm
At the heart of the MK-I is a 34mm gold-sputtered diaphragm. This large-diaphragm design allows the microphone to capture a wide dynamic range with extremely low self-noise. Whether you are recording a whisper-quiet interview or an energetic podcast discussion, the MK-I responds with precision.
The result is audio that is rich, detailed, and free from the electronic hiss that plagues lesser condensers at comparable gain stages.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The MK-I utilizes a tight cardioid pickup pattern, which is essential for Sound Architecture. By focusing on the sound directly in front of the capsule and rejecting noise from the sides and rear, the microphone effectively carves out the voice from the surrounding environment.
This makes it ideal for use in rooms that have not been fully treated for acoustics, as it naturally minimizes the impact of room reflections.
Application
The cardioid pattern carves the voice out of the room — even in untreated spaces.
Structural Integrity & Frequency Voicing
Built to survive the workspace. Voiced for the voice.
Build
We have constructed the MK-I to survive the demands of a professional workspace. The internal shock-mounting protects the sensitive capsule from handling noise, while the dual-layer steel grille acts as a built-in pop filter and physical shield.
This is a microphone that feels as substantial as it sounds, providing the weight and stability required for high-end studio applications.
Frequency Response
Unlike generic studio microphones, the MK-I is voiced specifically for the human voice. It features a subtle presence boost in the 3kHz to 5kHz range, which enhances speech intelligibility without making the audio sound harsh.
Your recordings sit perfectly in a mix or podcast stream with minimal equalization required during the editing phase.
Connectivity & Power
The MK-I is a professional-grade condenser microphone that requires +48V phantom power. It connects via a standard balanced XLR output, ensuring a clean signal path to your audio interface or mixer.
We recommend using high-quality shielded cables to maintain the integrity of the Sound Architecture from the microphone to your recording software.

Versatility in Application
Beyond the interview
While the MK-I excels at interviews, its flat response and high SPL handling make it a versatile tool for various studio tasks. It is equally capable of capturing acoustic instruments or ambient room sounds.
This versatility makes the MK-I a smart investment for studios that need to handle a wide range of creative tasks.
Customer Reviews
From the studio floor.
"The MK-I replaced a microphone twice its price in our interview setup. The cardioid pattern rejects my untreated office walls surprisingly well — I spend less time on noise reduction and more time editing the actual content."
James O.
Podcast Producer, London
"I run a small home studio and the presence boost in the 3–5kHz range means my voice sits in the mix without needing much EQ. The build quality is genuinely heavy — it feels like a piece of professional equipment, not a toy."
Sarah M.
Independent Broadcaster
"Solid microphone for the price. The included shock mount fits my existing boom arm and the padded case is a nice touch for location work. It does need phantom power, so make sure your interface supports +48V before you buy."
