Acoustic Shield S3
A portable isolation solution that surrounds the microphone with high-density acoustic foam and a ventilated metal backing — eliminating the boxy, untreated-room sound from any recording space.
Recording in an untreated room captures the space itself — every wall bounce, every ceiling reflection, every boxy resonance — alongside the voice you actually want.
The S3 surrounds the microphone with high-density acoustic foam and a ventilated metal backing, absorbing sound energy before it can return to the capsule as colouration.
A dry, controlled vocal captured at the source — the kind of clean take that needs minimal corrective processing in post-production and preserves the natural character of the voice.
Multi-layer diffusion, ventilated structure
The S3 uses a five-panel design that adjusts to the angle of your microphone, maximising coverage around the capsule. Each panel is built from high-density acoustic absorption foam that soaks up sound energy, stopping it from bouncing off nearby walls and returning to the microphone as unwanted reverb.
Behind the foam, a precision-perforated metal shell lets air move naturally while still forming a physical barrier against external noise. This prevents the low-frequency pressure buildup that creates a muddy, boxed-in tone — a clear example of solving an acoustic problem through physical design before it reaches your recording software.
The result holds even in rooms with significant natural reverb: the dryness of your recording is maintained at the source, not reconstructed after the fact.
Studio-quality sound, wherever the work takes you
The folding design packs down for transport. Whether recording at a client's office or in a hotel room, the S3 keeps your audio consistent regardless of your physical location.

Universal mounting system
The S3 mounts on any standard microphone stand using the included 5/8" thread, or sits on a tabletop using its integrated feet. An adjustable bracket lets you position the microphone at the right depth within the shield, giving you control over the level of isolation and the closeness of the recorded sound.
Constructed from high-grade steel and durable composite materials, the hinges are reinforced for repeated adjustments and the foam is treated to resist degradation over time — built to serve as a reliable part of your Sound Architecture for years.

Durability and impact on post-production
High-grade steel and composite
The frame is built from high-grade steel with durable composite panels. Reinforced hinges handle repeated angle adjustments, and the foam is treated to resist the degradation that softens acoustic performance over time.
Clean vocal at the source
Capturing a dry vocal at the source eliminates the need for aggressive de-reverb plugins and excessive equalisation later in the chain. The natural character of the voice comes through without the room layered on top.
Less corrective work downstream
When the recording is already clean, you spend less time fixing problems and more time shaping the performance. A high-fidelity, natural result that reflects the true character of the voice — and saves time on every session.
Clean lines that complement the modern studio on camera
The matte black finish and minimalist geometry look professional on camera — an excellent choice for video podcasts and filmed interviews where the gear is part of the visual frame.
The S3 in the room
Choosing the right isolation
If anything here is unclear, or you want help matching the S3 to your existing microphone and room, contact the studio directly — we work with this gear every day.
Will the S3 fit the microphone I already own?
The S3 uses a standard 5/8" mounting thread with a 3/8" adapter included, so it fits the vast majority of microphone stands on the market. The shield itself is designed to house large-diaphragm condenser microphones — the most common type used for vocal recording, podcasting, and voice-over.
Does it eliminate room sound completely?
No isolation shield replaces full acoustic treatment of a room — that is a physical fact of sound. What the S3 does is significantly reduce the colouration and reverb that reach the microphone, giving you a drier, more controlled starting point. The difference is most noticeable in untreated rooms with hard, reflective surfaces.
Can I fold it for transport between locations?
Yes. The five-panel design folds down to a compact footprint for transport, which is one of the main reasons mobile engineers and voice artists choose it. Set-up at a client site or hotel room takes a few minutes.
What does the S3 not do?
It does not block external noise like traffic or voices from adjacent rooms — that requires mass and isolation at the architectural level. The S3 controls what the microphone hears from the room you are in, not what travels through the walls.
